Map and driving instructions

The Child Health Institute is housed on the University of Washington (UW) Sand Point campus (in Sand Point Magnuson Park), at Sand Point Way and NE 74th Street.

Formerly a Navy hospital, the building was renovated by the UW in January of 2003 into academic research offices while still retaining many of its important historic architectural features.

Driving:

From I-5 north or south, take the NE 45th exit heading east. Follow NE 45th past the UW main campus, down the hill along an over pass by the University Village shopping center. At the bottom of the hill, turn left and continue on NE 45th, which turns into Sand Point Way. Follow Sand Point Way for several miles. Turn right at NE 74th Street (there will be a 7-11 store on your left). Drive past the gate and guardhouse under the banner "Sand Point Magnuson Park." CHI is located in the first red brick building, Bldg. 29, on the left. Parking is available on the west and east sides of the building.

By Bus from UW main campus:

Take the 75 from Stevens Way/the HUB (Husky Student Union Building), the bus will follow Sand Point Way. Get off at the stop on NE 74th Street which is right near the Sand Point Magnuson Park entrance. Walk to your right through the gate and guardhouse under the banner "Sand Point Magnuson Park." CHI is located in the first red brick building, Bldg. 29, on the left.
